This brake system is designed for freight locomotives. The MB-L05 is a triple pipe and is based on the ALSTOM-AD43C brake system. Since the ALSTOM-AD43C brake system cannot be coupled with triple pipe brake systems (AAR standard), a separate panel called Equalizing Panel (EQ) is designed and mounted on it to be applied in in-line locomotives.
